Wer sich erfolgreich im Markt positionieren will, muss
auf die richtigen Trendthemen setzen und sich klar fokussieren. Das gilt auch für tts. Thomas Brückner geht davon
aus, dass das Thema „Performance Support“ einen Paradigmenwechsel einleitet – weg von der Kreation großer „Bildungsmonumente“, hin zu passgenauen Informationen.
„Es geht eigentlich um die Frage, wie wir Mitarbeitern im
„Moment of Need“, also genau dem Moment, in dem sie das
Wissen brauchen und lernen wollen, die passenden Informationen bereitstellen können“, sagt Brückner.

anticipates that “performance support” is triggering a paradigm shift – away from the creation of huge “training
monuments” and towards information that is the perfect fit.
“Actually the question is, how we make the right information available to employees at the ‘moment of need’, i.e. at
the precise moment that they need knowledge and want to
learn,” Brückner said.
Deshalb hat die tts ihr Produktportfolio neu strukturiert. Mit der tt Performance Suite werden zwei Kernprodukte unter einem gemeinsamen Dach vereint:

• Die tt Knowledge Force (TTKF) ist dafür da, exzellente
Inhalte im Team zu produzieren, sowohl für das
formale als auch das informelle Lernen.
• Der tt Guide dient dazu, im Sinne einer „Business
Process Guidance“ Mitarbeiter im Umgang mit
Softwareanwendungen zielgerichtet zu unterstützen.
Dazu gehören Informationen, die durch das Pro­
gramm führen, und solche, die es verstehen helfen.
• tt Knowledge Force (TTKF) is there for producing
excellent content within teams, for both formal and
informal learning.
• tt Guide serves to support employees purposefully in
their interactions with software applications, in the
sense of “business process guidance”. Any information that guides them through a program or helps
them to understand it belongs here.

tts sieht künftig zwei verschiedene Modelle vor:
• Ein klassisches „Software as a Service (SaaS)“-Modell
als „Rundum-sorglos-Paket“
• Ein „Managed Hosting“-Modell, bei dem der Kunde
zwar seine Serverlandschaft zu tts verlagert aber
ansonsten weiter mit den bereits erworbenen
Lizenzen arbeitet
aufbereitet werden. Dadurch gibt es Redundanzen und
Überschneidungen.
Deshalb hat tts die tt Performance Suite als integrierte
Lösung entwickelt, bei der „Performance Support“ und
„Learn­ing-Content-Produktion“ auf einer Plattform stattfinden. „Aktuell sind wir nach unseren Erkenntnissen der
einzige Anbieter im Markt, der beides integriert auf einer
Plattform anbieten kann“, beschreibt Brückner den Vorsprung von tts.
Um diese Lösungen anbieten zu können, hat man umdenken müssen. „Uns hat die Frage beschäftigt, wie wir es
schaffen, unseren Kunden einen schnellen Einstieg zu ermöglichen.“ Deshalb gibt es ab sofort nur noch zwei Grundkonfigurationen, die sich vom Preismodell her an den Endanwendern orientieren:
• Die Quickstart Edition, ein rein cloudbasiertes
Angebot, mit vorgefassten Regeln zum Beispiel für
Workflows, die üblicherweise verwendet werden
• Die Professional Edition, ein All-inclusive-Angebot
mit allen Extras, die die Kunden bisher einzeln
dazukaufen mussten
Lerninhalte komfortabel in Learning-ManagementSysteme integrieren
Bei der Integration der Lerninhalte in verschiedene
Learning-Management-Systeme (LMS) schreitet man ebenfalls voran. So gibt es bereits zwei Pilotprojekte für die Integration in SuccessFactors.
Das Szenario sieht in der Praxis folgendermaßen aus:
Inhalte, die mit der TTKF erstellt wurden, können in SuccessFactors als Content Objects in Form eines Links integriert werden. Der SuccessFactors-Nutzer kann dieses Objekt anklicken, die Inhalte lernen und den Link wieder verlassen, wobei sein Lernfortschritt stets zurückgeschrieben
wird. Wer die TTKF einsetzt, muss damit nicht mehr zwingend einen zweiten Content Server pflegen, sondern kann
direkt das Web Publisher Portal als Backbone nutzen. „Das
macht weniger Arbeit und spart redundante Daten ein.“
Für Kenner der tts zeigt die aktuelle Produkterweiterung einmal mehr die Stärken des Unternehmens: Als Vordenker stets im Blick zu haben, wie sich Technik und Kundenbedarfe weiterentwickeln, und gemeinsam daran zu
arbeiten, aktuelle Trends sicher umzusetzen.
SaaS und Managed Hosting aus der Cloud
Neuerdings können auch die Server-Anwendungen
hinter TTKF und tt Guide als cloudbasierte Dienste bezogen
werden. Dafür hat man sich mit dem Marktführer Amazon
Webservices zusammengetan, mit dem auch Branchengrößen wie SAP oder Dropbox zusammenarbeiten.

tts foresees two different models in the future:
• A classic Software as a Service (SaaS) model as an
“all-round carefree package”
• A Managed Hosting model, whereby the client
relocates his server environment to tts but otherwise
continues to work under the terms of licences that
have already been purchased
prepared separately. As a result there are redundancies and
overlaps.
This is why tts has developed tt Performance Suite as
an integrated solution in which both performance support
and learning content production come together on one
platform. “As far as we know we are the only vendor on the
market that currently offers both, integrated on a single
platform,” Brückner said, describing tts’ advantage.
In order to offer these solutions, a change of thinking
was required. “The question that occupied our minds was
how to provide our customers with rapid on-boarding.” For
this reason, from now on there will be just two basic configurations oriented around the end-users from a price
model perspective:
• The Quickstart Edition, a pure cloud-based offering,
with preconceived rules governing, for example,
workflows that are commonly used
• The Professional Edition, an all-inclusive offering
with all of the extras, which until now customers had
to buy individually
Integrating content conveniently in learning
management systems
With the integration of content in various learning
management systems (LMS) we are also making progress.
Thus there are already two pilot projects for integration in
SuccessFactors.
In practice, the scenario looks like this: content created with TTKF can be integrated in SuccessFactors as content objects in the form of a link. The SuccessFactors user
can click on this object, learn the content and then leave
the link, upon which action his learning progress is always
recorded. When a company deploys TTKF, it no longer necessarily has to maintain a second content server, but rather
can use the web publisher portal as a backbone. “This
means less work and saves on data redundancy.”
For people who know tts the current product development further underlines the company’s strengths: as a pioneer and thought leader, always with an eye on how technology and customer requirements are evolving, working
together in order to put current trends into practice in a reliable manner.
SaaS and managed hosting from the cloud
As of recently, the server applications behind TTKF and
TT Guide can also be obtained as cloud-based services. To
this end we have joined forces with the market leader Amazon Webservices, with whom sector leaders such as SAP
or Dropbox are collaborating.
