LIST OF LEGIBLE INSCRIPTIONS ON STONES IN THE FOREIGN CEMETERY ON DOUBLE ISLAND, SWATOW, 1922 __________ By R. M. TALBOT __________ The Honorary Secretary, North China Branch Royal Asiatic Society, Shanghai Dear Sir, Whilst stationed at Swatow in 1922 I spent the summer on Double Island (Masu) at the mouth of the river. On this island was an old foreign cemetery, the inscriptions on the stones of which were fast becoming obliterated. Thinking it would be well to have a record of those still legible, I made as complete a list as possible with the assistance of Mr. Stocker, a permanent resident on the island. As the list may have some historical interest I am now forwarding it to you that it may be filed with other material you may have of the same sort. Yours faithfully, R. M. TALBOT.
