Wir schlagen zum begleitenden Erwerb vertiefter Kenntnisse die folgenden Überblickstexte vor: Norton Anthology of American Literature Heath Anthology of American Literature Cambridge History of American Literature (ed. Sacvan Bercovitch) Amerikanische Literaturgeschichte (ed. Hubert Zapf; Metzler-Verlag) A New Literary History of America (ed. Greil Marcus and Werner Sollors; Harvard UP) Die zu schnürenden 6 Päckchen bestehen, je nach Länge, aus jeweils 2-3 Primärtexten und müssen aus den nachfolgenden größeren Paketen ausgewählt werden. Primärliteratur je nach Schwierigkeit jeweils ca. 800 pp. pro Päckchen; Sekundärliteratur ca. 100 pp. Unter den drei Päckchen müssen sich mindestens 2 aus den Period Packages befinden. Beim Rest sollten allzu viele Doppelungen vermieden werden. Die Lektürepäckchen werden individuell mit den Prüfern abgestimmt. Die Primärliteratur muss erworben werden. Zusätzlich empfehlen wir, Ausgaben von Norton, Bedford St. Martins oder Broadview oder andere kommentierte Ausgaben mit Zusatzmaterial und kritischen Essays zu benutzen (UB).
