Der Film von Rotraut Pape ist eine visuelle Langzeit-Beobachtung der
deutsch-deutschen Wiedervereinigung. Über einen Zeitraum von 25 Jahren
beobachtete sie mit der Kamera die Auswirkungen des Verschwindens der
Berliner Mauer auf die Stadt.
In Anwesenheit der Künstlerin feiert der Film im Rahmen der B3 Biennale
des bewegten Bildes seine Weltpremiere am Mittwoch, 07.10.2015, um 11
Uhr, in der Eingangshalle des Frankfurter Hauptbahnhofs.
Täglich passieren rund 450.000 Reisende diesen Transitraum – ein ++Ort
für die Uraufführung und die durchgehende Präsentation. Einleitend
sprechen werden Prof. Dr. Christian Janecke, HfG Kunstgeschichte und
Prof. Bernd Kracke, HfG Präsident & B3 Leitung.
Im Anschluss: Panel "Die Mauer im Kopf"
Nur wenige Tage nach dem 25-jährigen Jubiläum der deutschen
Wiedervereinigung und vor dem Hintergund der aktuellen gesellschaftlichen
und politischen Lage diskutieren deutsche und internationale Künstler über
Grenzen und "Mauern im Kopf". Was können Kunst und Medien tun und
verändern?

This movie by video artist Rotraut Pape is a visual long-term observation of
the inter-German reunification. During a quarter-century, Rotraut Pape
observed with her camera the effects of the disappearance of the Berlin Wall
on the city.
During B3 Biennal of the Moving Image and in presence of the artist, the
film celebrates its world premiere on Wed, 01.10.2015 at 11 am at the
entrance hall of Frankfurt main station.
Seven days a week, about 450,000 travellers pass by – there is no better
location for the debut and full screening. An introduction will be given by
Prof. Dr. Christian Janecke, HfG Offenbach, history of art, and Prof. Bernd
Kracke, president of HfG Offenbach and B3 festival director.
Followed by the panel "The Wall Inside Our Heads"
Just a few days after celebrating the 25th anniversary of the inter-German
reunification and against the background of the current political situation,
artists from Germany and several other countries will be discussing about
physical and mental borders – what can, what should arts and media do? Do
have artists a chance to influence or change anything?
