RUBENS QUARTETT Gründung 2000. Dreijähriges Studium an der Niederländischen Streichquartett Akademie in Amsterdam. Seit 2005 Studium bei Eberhard Feltz an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin. Verleihung des Niederländischen Kunstpreises, 2003 Gewinner des Kammermusik-Wettbewerbes Almere, 2004 Anton Kersjes van de Groenekan-Preis und 2. Preis beim Internationalen Streichquartett-Wettbewerb Tromp in Eindhoven, 3. Preis beim Streichquartett-Wettbewerb des Festivals Prager Frühling 2005. Regelmäßiger Unterricht beim Cellisten Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartett); zahlreiche Meisterkurse u. a. bei Milan Škampa, Thomas Brandis, György Kurtág und Mitgliedern des Amadeus-, des Borodin- und des Juilliard Quartetts. Als „quartet-in-residence“ der Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies 2002 und 2003 je einen Monat lang intensive Betreuung von Hugh Maguire (Allegri Quartett). Einladung der Orpheum Stiftung in die Tonhalle Zürich, Auftritte in Paris, beim Festival International de Quatuor à Cordes du Lubéron in Südfrankreich, London und Ljubljana. Studium an der Hochschule für Musik Köln und am Konservatorium Maastricht bei Charles-André Linale, Boris Belkin und Robert Szreder. Meisterkurse bei Ana Chumachenko, Ivan Strauš und Yfrah Neaman. Roeland JAGERS, Viola (Niederlande) Geboren in Eindhoven (Niederlande). Studium am Brabants Conservatorium und am Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag bei Ferdinand Erblich, Vladimir Mendelssohn und Nobuko Imai. Meisterkurse bei Ervin Schiffer, Wolfram Christ und Milan Škampa. Joachim EIJLANDER, Violoncello (Niederlande) Geboren in Rotterdam (Niederlande). Studium an der Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht bei Elias Arizcuren und Laurenţiu Sbârcea. Meisterkurse bei Clemens Hagen, László Mezö und Antonio Meneses. RUBENS QUARTETT The Rubens Quartett was established in 2000 by four young musicians. They attended studies for three years at the Dutch String Quartet Academy in Amsterdam. Since 2005 the quartet has been studying with Eberhard Feltz at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. Apart from the desirable Art Award of The Netherlands, the quartet won the Almere Chamber Music Award in 2003 and was awarded the “Anton Kersjes van de Groenekan” prize in 2004. In the same year, the quartet won the second prize of the International String Quartet Competition Tromp in Eindhoven, and in 2005 their participation in the renowned string quartet competition of the festival “Prague Spring” in 2005 was honoured with the third prize. In the framework of intensive studies at the Dutch String Quartet Academy the Rubens Quartett regularly attended classes with cellist Stefan Metz (Orlando Quartett) and was able to attend numerous master classes, among others with Milan Skampa, Thomas Brandis, György Kurtág and members of the Amadeus Quartett, the Borodin Quartett and of the Juilliard Quartett. As the “quartet in residence” of the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies the ensemble received intensive coaching by Hugh Maguire (Allegri Quartett) for one month each in 2002 and 2003. Among other occasions the quartet also performed by invitation from the Orpheum Foundation at the Tonhalle Zürich, played in Paris on the occasion of the Festival International de Quatuor à Cordes du Lubéron in the South of France, and lately in London and Ljubljana. The quartet plays instruments from the collection of the “Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds” of The Netherlands. Quirine SCHEFFERS, Violin (Netherlands) Born in Veldhoven (The Netherlands).
