Tips: use “dann” to say “then” + another action. Tips : “in Zukunft” is in position 1, therefore you must put the verb in 2nd position (werde ich and NOT ich werde). Express why you will do those things A. because B. because , denn (+ no change to the word order) , weil (+ change to the word order) Example A: In Zukunft, wenn alles klappt, werde ich auf die Universität gehen, denn ich will die Schulsystem nicht verlassen. Example B: In Zukunft, wenn alles klappt, werde ich auf die Universität gehen, weil ich die Schulsystem nicht verlassen will. Tips: Use “, denn” if you do not remember that “weil” kicks the verb to the end. Tips: Use “weil” to really impress – but make sure the conjugated verb is the one at the end! Tips: Remember to re read the sentence and ensure that the subject pronoun (person doing the action) is the same throughout. Tips: Link the sentences using “aber” (no inversion or “jedoch” (+ inversion) Express what you would do if you had the chance If I had the chance I would... Tips: Use a variety of adjectives and add reasons why – look up your own on wordreference.omc. “dict.leo” to really impress! Express what you have already done I have already... Tips: Use “deswegen” meaning therefore to link your sentences. Tips: Be imaginative! If you said given the chance you would buy a Ferrari, say you have already bought a BMW! Key words to help improve the quality of your sentences: aber und dann (+ inversion) jedoch (+ inversion) einerseits (+ inversion) andererseits (+ inversion) weder...noch nicht nur....sondern auch but and then however On the one hand On the other hand Neither...nor Not only...but also... Revision tips: KEY STRATEGY Strategy 1: Strategy 2: Strategy 3: Strategy 4: SAY IT OUT AND WRITE IT OUT + PRACTICE SPELLINGS! This is the key to all your learning! Practise writing out a sentence. Use look, cover, and check to see if you can rewrite it perfectly. Highlight mistakes and rewrite until it is correct! Put post it notes with a sentence on each in different areas of your room. When memorizing the sentence, picture the object where the post it notes are. Create flashcards – one side is a picture and on the other side is the sentence it represents. Turn them over as you learn them. Reading through your book IS NOT revision.
