Übersicht
Dieses Dokument erläutert die Installation und Usage des check_oracle Tools, welches gemeinsam mit Nagios und
den check_scripts das Monitoring von Oracle Datenbanken ermöglicht.
Das check_oracle Tool und die check_scripts werden als Produkt „DBMonipro Basis Edition“ zusammengefasst.

Vorraussetzungen
Um das check_oracle Tool verwenden zu können, sind folgende Voraussetzungen notwendig:

Nagios 3.x

libclntsh.so ab version 11.1 (libclntsh.so.11.1)
Diese wird bei allen gängigen 11g Installationen mitgeliefert. Für den Betrieb des check_oracle Tools ist
mindestens ein Oracle Instant Client 11g (Basic) notwendig. Den dafür notwendigen Download Link ist
unter 4.2 angeführt.


Die Umgebungsvariable LD_LIBRARY_PATH sollte gesetzt werden.
Installation
1. Wählen Sie entsprechend Ihrer Plattform die passende check_oracle Version aus.
Aktuell werden folgende Betriebsysteme unterstützt:
1. RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.x (Intel/AMD x86 32 sowie 64 Bit)
2. RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x (Intel/AMD x86 32 sowie 64 Bit)
3. Suse Enterprise Linux (SELS) 10.x (Intel/AMD x86 32 sowie 64 Bit)
4. Suse Enterprise Linux (SELS) 11.x (Intel/AMD x86 32 sowie 64 Bit)
2. Oracle Instant Client 11.x Basic herunterladen und installieren.

b. Installation des Pakets

3. Erster Verbindungstest
a. Exportieren des LD_LIBRARY_PATH=<oracle_instantclient_home>/lib
b. Führen Sie check_oracle mit der logon option aus
c.
./check_oracle –H <hostname> -P <port> -T <db service name> -u <username> -p <password> -r <role> -o logon –w
<warning threshold> -c <critical threshold>

Um das Passwort aus Sicherheitsgründen nicht im Programaufruf mitzuliefern, kann durch --pwdfile ein Passwortfile
genutzt werden. Dafür muss ein File mit dem Namen „auth.pwd“ im selben Ordner erstellt werden.
Dieses File ist wie folgt aufgebaut:

Voraussetzung für die --pwdfile Option ist die –t option. Diese muss genutzt werden, damit die TNS Einträge
gemappt werden können.
