Field research in Brazil, main research areas are Visual Anthropology, Photography, History of the African Diaspora. Doctoral thesis on photography of slavery in Brazil, University of Munich (2006). 1997‐2008 employee at the Photographic Archive of Deutsches Museum, Munich. Since 2007 curator of Munich Ethnofilmfest (Staatliches Museum für Völkerkunde, Munich / Institute of Anthropology, University of Munich). Speaker of the section Visual Anthropology of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Völkerkunde (German Anthropological Association, DGV). Since 2008 scientific research assistant at the University of Bayreuth, Institute of African Studies, project DEVA.
