You have read KnutKnust’s blog and you decide to write a comment.
Write a passage of 100 to 200 words. You could include:
 what you think about going to the cinema.
 what a friend of yours thinks about going to the cinema.

/ don’t like it.
 what type of films you like, what your favourite film is, and why.
 what you think about DVDs and downloads.

Ich gehe gern ins Kino. Ich finde es wirklich toll, weil mein Freund auch gern ins
Kino geht. Normalerweise gehen wir einmal im Monat ins Kino und nach dem Film
essen wir immer in McDonalds. Das finde ich super.
Ich mag Horrorfilme und Science-Fiction-Filme. Mein Lieblingsfilm ist „The Matrix“,
weil die Spezialeffekte total klasse sind.
Am Wochenende habe ich „Quantum of Solace“ gesehen. Der Film war ziemlich
gut.
Ich lade nie DVDs herunter, weil das wirklich langweilig ist.

Parts 1 and 2
 The simple statements in part 1 convey a clear message and that is important.
 However, adverbs of time can improve the statements and add interest, for
example in part 2:
Wir gehen normalerweise einmal im Monat dorthin.
Das finde ich immer super.
Ich lade nie DVDs herunter.
 Intensifiers can do the same, for example:
Das finde ich wirklich toll.
Die Spezialeffekte sind total klasse.
Das ist wirklich langweilig.
 As an adverb of manner, “gern” is extremely useful:
Ich gehe gern ins Kino.
Mein Freund geht auch gern ins Kino.
 Finally, extra simple information can be easily added in, for example:
Nach dem Film essen wir in McDonalds. (Note inversion of subject and verb.)
Ich mag Horrorfilme und Science-Fiction-Filme.
Part 3
 The sentences are now joined together to make a coherent paragraph and in a
way which begins to meet the assessment requirements for grade C. A little
extra information is added in. The piece of work now communicates simple but
clear messages consistently. Simple opinions are expressed and there is some
variety of structure, including different tenses. These are key indicators of
grade C performance.
 Statements are now connected with “weil,” giving reasons for opinions and
providing a variety of structure, for example: “weil mein Freund auch gern ins
Kino geht”; “weil die Spezialeffekte total klasse sind”; “weil das wirklich
langweilig ist”.

 Past tenses are added as the only extra piece of language: “Am Wochenende
habe ich „Quantum of Solace“ gesehen. Der Film war ziemlich gut.”
 Inversion of subject and verb is remembered – an easily forgotten rule, which
nevertheless lends authority to a piece of work and its claim for a higher grade:
“Normalerweise gehen wir ...;” “nach dem Film essen wir ...”
