Stem of the verb: All letters up to the “en” or “n” ending of the verb

Stems that end in “d” , “t”, or “n” add an “e” for the du; er,sie,es; and ihr
forms:
Er arbeit e t: Er arbeitet.
Note: Verbs that end with the letters “eln” drop the “e” before the “l” for the
ich from only: segeln (to sail) Ich segle nicht gern.
Direct Objects: D.O.s receive the action of an action verb be it mental or
physical action. Note: das and die have no change.
D.O.
I have the book.
I listen to the music.
I need a pencil.
In German the masculine direct object changes from der to den and from ein
to einen:
Ich habe ein Buch. (das/ein Buch)
Ich höre die Musik. (die/eine Musik)
Ich brauche einen Bleistift. (der/ein Bleistift (subj.); den/einen Bleistift (d.o.)
