Ebenfalls selektiert das Educational Committee der ASCO jedes Jahr die wichtigsten Beiträge für die Entwicklung der Tumormedizin bei den unterschiedlichen Entitäten. Die Originaldias dieser selektierten Beiträge werden für die offiziellen „Best of ASCO“-Veranstaltungen zusammengestellt. Wir freuen uns, dass die Charité dieses Jahr zum zweiten Mal gemeinsam mit der Deutschen Krebsgesellschaft die Organisation der „Best of ASCO“-Veranstaltung übernehmen kann und haben Ihnen gemeinsam mit den Referenten, die allesamt ausgewiesene Experten auf ihrem Gebiet sind, ein spannendes Programm zusammengestellt. Dieses Jahr geht es hier wieder vor allem um die neuen Daten der Immuntherapie und mit zielgerichteten Substanzen, aber auch um generelle Fragen der Versorgung von Tumorpatienten. Viele Grüße Ihr Prof. Dr. Ulrich Keilholz Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, Anfang Juni treffen sich in Chicago Onkologen aus der ganzen Welt, um sich über die neuesten wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse in der Behandlung von krebskranken Menschen zu informieren und über den Änderungsbedarf bestehender Behandlungsansätze zu diskutieren. Der Kongress der Amerikanischen Krebsgesellschaft (ASCO) stellt einen der wichtigsten Leuchttürme der Onkologie im Verlauf eines jeden Jahres dar. Die Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft (DKG) kooperiert schon seit vielen Jahren mit der ASCO und viele ihrer Mitglieder gehören immer wieder zum Kreis derer, die in Chicago eigene Forschungsergebnisse vorstellen oder den Kongress als Teilnehmer besuchen. Mit dem Format „Best of ASCO“ wurde die Möglichkeit geschaffen, in Kooperation und enger Abstimmung die entscheidenden Inhalte des ASCO unmittelbar und im Original zum Kongress in Chicago zur Verfügung zu haben, um sie hier in Deutschland vorzustellen und im Kontext der deutschen Versorgungsrealität zu diskutieren und einzuordnen. Nachdem die DKG in den zurückliegenden Jahren das „Best of ASCO“ mehrfach selbst veranstaltet hat, wissen wir die Vorteile zu schätzen. Ich freue mich daher, dass in diesem Jahr in Berlin unter der Leitung von Herrn Prof. Keilholz, Leiter des Comprehensive Cancer Center der Charité (CCCC), diese Veranstaltung wieder aufgegriffen wurde und die DKG die Schirmherrschaft übernommen hat.
