Ich habe………verloren!
(I lost……)
As you know there are three genders in German.
If you think of them as
‘man’ words (masc),
‘woman’ words (fem) and
‘thing’ words (neuter)
it might be easier to understand that in German
all nouns behave as if you were talking about your
brother, your sister or your mobile!
Example:
I lost my brother.
I lost my rucksack.
I lost him on the bus.
I lost him on the bus.
He is small.
He is brown.
Let’s remind ourselves how
to say ‘I lost my….’ again
using
masculine (‘man’ words)
feminine (‘women’ words)
neuter (‘thing’ words)
plural words.

Now you want to say where you lost
your item. Instead of repeating the
