Kontrabass-Duo Beltane Ruiz & Kaspar Loyal Beltane Ruiz, geboren 1983, studierte Kontrabass und Komposition in Soria (Spanien), London und Berlin (Universität der Künste, Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler) u. a. bei Rinat Ibragimov, Esko Laine, Janne Saksala und David Sinclair. Neben anderen Stipendien erhielt Beltane Ruiz 2006 das Hezekiah Wardwell-Stipendium der Alexander von HumboldtStiftung. 2007 wurde sie mit dem dritten „Hanns Eisler Preis für die Interpretation zeitgenössischer Musik“ ausgezeichnet. Sie spielte unter Dirigenten wie Sir Colin Davies, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Zubin Mehta und Daniel Barenboim und war Mitglied verschiedener Orchester wie dem European Union Youth Orchestra und dem Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester. Seit 2008 ist sie Mitglied der Akademie der Staatskapelle Berlin. Kaspar Loyal, geboren 1983, erhielt seinen ersten Kontrabassunterricht im Alter von neun Jahren. Mit 16 Jahren wechselte er zu Professor Werner Zeibig an die Spezialschule für Musik in Dresden. 2004 gewann er einen ersten Preis beim Bundeswettbewerb „Jugend musiziert“. Seit 2006 studiert er Kontrabass bei Professor Esko Laine an der Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. Vielfältige Orchestererfahrungen sammelte Kaspar Loyal bisher im Landesjugendorchester Sachsen, in der Europaphilharmonie, der Jungen Deutschen Philharmonie sowie in der Dresdner Philharmonie. Seit 2008 spielt er in der Staatskapelle Berlin. One year later, she received her third “Hanns Eisler Award for the Interpretation of Contemporary Music”. She has been a member of various orchestras, such as the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. She has participated in concerts conducted by internationally recognized conductors, among them Sir Colin Davies, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Zubin Mehta, and Daniel Barenboim. She has been a member of the Academy of the “Staatskapelle Berlin” since 2008. Kaspar Loyal, born in 1983, was given his first lessons in contrabass at the age of nine. When he was sixteen years old he started working with Professor Werner Zeibig at the “Spezialschule für Musik” in Dresden. In 2004 he won the German national competition “Jugend musiziert”. Since 2006 he has been studying contrabass with Professor Esko Laine at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. He has been a member of various orchestras, such as the “Landesjugendorchester Sachsen”, the “Europaphilharmonie”, the “Junge Deutsche Philharmonie”, and the “Dresdner Philharmonie”.
